5 Purposeful logo variations you need for your brand

A powerful brand that has impact, should have the following logo variations included in their brand identities.

1 / PRIMARY

This is your main logo. The complex, full version. It should include your full business name, icon or submark, and even your tagline. This should be used whenever possible. Any item or location that will be the first exposure of your brand to a potential client or consumer should include this variation. For example, a business card, website and signage.

2 / STACKED

This is your more compact version of your logo. Often there are times where you have less space to work with and you need a more impactful version to represent your brand. This is best used for smaller collateral. Such as, narrow signage, mobile version of your website, tags and packaging.

3 / SUBMARK

This logo can be designed in various ways. For this brand we used the logo icon as the submark. These submark logos are best used as accent logos. For instance, they work well on tags, packaging, stickers, clothing and are ideal for favicons and social media platforms.

4 / ICONS

Similar to the submark above, it is best used in smaller collateral but can be used along with the primary or stacked logo version as an additional branding element. These will also work well on tags, packaging, stickers, clothing and are ideal for favicons and social media platforms.

5 / ADDITIONAL DESIGN ELEMENTS

For our brands, sometimes we expand on the standard brand package and include additional elements. Often it’s for their website or they need an additional variation of their logo or instagram highlight icons are a common request!
